According to Home Affairs Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, there are a large number of foreign nationals living here without documentation who refuse to get it for questionable reasons.
According to the minister, the public believes that Home Affairs is to blame for the high proportion of illegal immigrants living in the nation.
Motsoaledi is sure that someone else is to blame despite several instances of slow systems that frequently malfunction at Home Affairs offices around the nation.
The problems brought on by the large levels of migration into South Africa, according to Motsoaledi, who was speaking during a media conference in Pretoria earlier on Wednesday, will not be resolved by documenting individuals.
“If everybody within these borders, regardless of where they come from, is documented, will the problem of housing, jobs, lack of accommodation, will the problems the economy is experiencing come to an end? Obviously not.”
